Sibling Society by Robert Bly

Bly is riight again.

I read Bly's Iron John. It was the only thing that made sense about my ex-husband. The Sibling Society helps explain the crime in North Minneapolis and the dishonorable conduct of younger men elsewhere. I skip some passages because they are too erudite for this woman with two master's degrees. I appreciate that he said people need opportunities for good jobs. It didn't fit in with the rest of Bly's prose so I would guess a firm editor had him include it. He is truly an academic. It is surprising Bly could find so much meaning from fairy tales, but his interpretation rings true. If he was alive to witness all the crime, he could say, "II told you so," but he would be too gallant to rub it in our noses.

Cast Iron in the 1970s,

These recipes are easier to prepare, and the ingredients are less expensive. An ordinary cook would have many ingredients in their cupboards. The directions include what size cast iron pan to use. These recipes remind me of 1970s cookbooks. These recipes are not from John Wayne. The family gathered them, if that makes a difference. They did a good job. If you want to give a 1970s style cook a gift, this cookbook would work.
