Doesn't work

I am sorry to have to put a negative review but I'm afraid this product does not work. I have a MacBook Air and used to use my housemate's USB-HDMI adaptor to watch programmes streamed from my laptop on the big TV screen. It always worked fine. When my housemate moved out, I bought this product to replace it. It physically fits both Firebolt and HDMI ports fine, so I am guessing it is a hardware problem with the adaptor.
