Pro? Really?

I bought this as a birthday present for my son whose birthday was imminent. When the chest arrived I noticed a rattling noise inside it.The drawers wouldn't lock in place when the lid was shut down either. Unlike "Pro" quality tool chests the drawers are pop riveted to the sliders so there is no way to get into the chest other than to remove the rivets. Without sufficient time to order a replacement, I removed two of the riveted drawers to find a component of the drawer locking mechanism floating around in the chest-hence the rattle. This component should have been spot welded in place but wasn't. I pop riveted the component in place as it should have been and also re riveted the drawers to make the chest fit for purpose. So, if you get one of these "Pro" tool chests, give the package a good shake to listen out for a rattle just in case another chest has escaped the scrutiny of Sealey's Quality Control team.

IPA by Tradechemicals
