Be safe, Be Happy!
It would be great if you did not need to use this protection, but there has been so many cases of people getting hurt while using a chainsaw. It may seem a bit cumbersome, but know that its like using a seat belt in a car, it can and does save lives. I have seen a friend of mine who did not use protection and had his bottom lip and a few teeth cut off. He survived, some don't
