Not OEM, very tight fit, middling life.

Had to really jam it into the battery bay - fraction of a millimeter too long. No better life than my 3 year old battery. OK for a cheap emergency back up, but that's it.

Quality starter

Good starting kit but not indestructible. I wore out the city rake by being a little vigorous, snapped the head off. Could use more variety in the tension tool selection. Finish is smooth, no need to polish imho.

Works great with the right mags

I have a 30 round mini 14 metal OEM mag and this works perfectly for that. I have two more of OEM 30rd mags and they don't load as smoothly with this - it requires more careful technique which I'm sure just practice on my part would improve. I have two 30rd Tapco gen 2 mags and this works decently with them but not as good as the 1st mag I mentioned - for some reason that one is like butter. I have only tried this with loose rounds and not with stripper clips. I noticed that when I have trouble loading smoothly, it's because the rounds are out of parallel with each other. Again, for some reason, that first mag doesn't seem to have any problem. To be honest, I don't know if I need this loader because my mini 14 mags are relatively easy on my fingers, but with proper technique, loading is definitely faster.
