Solid, Safe, and Dependable
After learning the hard way that the '180 watt' or '300 watt' units selling new for a bit less than what appeared to be a 20-year-old unit were both falsely advertised and inherently unsafe (hair wires, bad solder joints, exposed 110 VAC, falling apart out of the box), I lucked into a unit that quite possibly will be working fine for my grandchildren.
Temperature and speed are not regulated, but are solid as a rock once set. Yes, it weighs twice that of newer units, but is definitely something that could run unattended without worry with the passing of every fire truck.

Blows away the chain-store knockoffs
This fan is far lighter, but far more robust than any of the eight home-improvement store fans we've use in our home. Very nicely balanced out of the box, and really, really solid!
