Awful tasting water

Got this kettle and the water tastes absolutely foul. With a tcp aftertaste. I have boiler it lots of times and the taste has never gone. I googled it and the advice was to boil using bicarbonate of soda. Having done this a few time the water is still horrible. I will have to get another kettle. Also I found that water leaks from the bottom as when I lift the kettle up there is always a pool of water on the base.

Brita filter Marella XL

Very happy with this product. It is large so for a family it is ideal. Fills really quickly too. I like the non spill from the unfiltered water part too. So you can still pour the filtered water without the lid falling off like on previous designs. It's a little large to be kept in the fridge though and once filled it is heavy due to its size. But great for lots of people constantly using it. I am very happy with this product. Best water filter I've had so far.
