This thing works great !!!!!
I diddle with computers and laptops and being able to read a hard drive or hook up a CD drive in seconds is a plus without having to break into the desktop case and mess with the wiring. Smaller HDD's don't really need the power supply to run as my desktop does fine with just the USB connected to the adapter, Larger HDD's of 1T and over need the extra power to run. Good for the money and a very good deal to add an extra USB drive without a lot of trouble.

Get what you pay for.
For the money its not a bad item, the pen is a ball point with invisible ink only revealed by the UV light on the end of the pen activated by a button on the side. It will mark on ferrous materials but slick items it will not. I wanted to mark items to know if they had been swapped in some of the items I sell, where I wanted to mark it wouldn't. Marking on a ordinary paper surface works great and does what it supposed to. A "felt tip" marker would be more appropriate where those wanted to be sure to get a mark that could be recognized.
For the money of less than $4.00 it does what its stated to do, but limited on surfaces.

It was good while it lasted
Slip a 2.5 in HDD in the case , hook the USB cable up and ready to go , worked good for about 2 weeks then died. Called the company and they said it wasn't made to boot from or wouldn't , So I guess possibly I might have burned it from booting from ? I don't know but it was a good experiment and let me discover what I wanted without the higher priced better units.
