A perfect book to gently challenge thoughts of how we see the world
I saw this book in a bookstore on my holidays. Didn't buy it but found myself thinking about the beautiful illustrations and the message within the book.
Yes it can be read quite simply as a book about some animals/insects seeing a cat. However the book perfectly demonstrates how we all can look at the same thing, here the cat, but our feelings/reactions can be vastly different. Why is that? The book conjures up so many questions for discussion and this book can be used to gently challenge children's own perceptions of others.
I will be using the book with 7-8 year olds but I think the book could enable discussion amongst children of any age.
