USB To Serial RS232 USB To 232 Converter Adapter PL2303HX MAX232 For Win7

This is a great way of connecting RS232 serial devices to a USB socket. Easy to wire up and they work perfectly. The installed UART drivers on a PC don't always work but reverting to older versions of the drivers soon fixes the problem. These work fine on Win10 using a 2011 version of the UART driver. My XP computers had no problem with the UART connection but I was already using a backdated version of the driver anyway. I have purchased a multiple number of these and they all perform as expected.

Icom MXA-5000 AIS Receiver

The MXA-5000 receiver is worthy of being my favourite AIS receiver, The receiver is a true duel channel receiver and is highly sensitive to the receive frequencies - able to pull out the most distant AIS targets with relative ease. The built in antenna splitter makes installation very easy where there is an existing VHF antenna and I have encountered very little db loss from the splitter. The computer interface could prove a challenge to anyone that is not savvy with wiring a com port or an NMEA2000 network. I have 2 of these units installed in marine radio base stations that I manage and they have never failed me. A highly recommended unit from Icom.
