...but how does it sound?
A quick look at the audio spectrum reveals this isn't just the CD slapped onto vinyl. It really is taken from original Capitol master. But you don't need a computer to reveal that. Just a pair of ears. The album's length really pushes the limit of how much playing time an LP can accommodate, and despite running into inner grove territory where for most release's sound quality starts to suffer, there is none of that present here. I could here no distortion with a elliptical 4mm by .7mm stylus. They really did a great job here. The very low end has a tad more compression than the CD, but that's a necessary evil given how tight they had to pack the groves together, and honestly, if it wasn't pointed out, most would never notice. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth every penny to finally hear this masterpiece in high definition. It's a limited run and is only destined to go up in price, so get this one now.
