Part looks like Genuine BEHR OEM
The part comes in BEHR box with high quality Hologram, all looks Genuine. Looks like the BMW logo and part number have been ground off but I expect this is due to reseller agreements and I have seen this before on other parts made by 3rd party OEM suppliers before. Used on my BMW E46 320d 55 plate (150 PS engine version). My car wasn't reaching the correct temp (90c / half way on gauge) and fuel economy had dropped. There are 2 thermostats on the car, the main one and the EGR one (this one), change the EGR one first as it much cheaper and easier! If it doesn't fix the issue, unlucky its probably the main one! Test the old one when you take it out, if you can blow air thought it or water flows thought it when under the tap replace it. It should be closed by default. There are plently of video on Youtube showing what to do. This is the second EGR themo i've replaced but my car has 215K miles on it.
