AWESOME
I've used Scruples gel for years. The hold depends on how much you use. The more I use helps when I use a curling iron. It does not flake.

Extra hold
I've been using Aerogel Finish Spray for years. I like a very strong hold and this is exactly what it does. However, the spray is buildable so if you're looking for a lighter hold you can do that too. The spray comes out even and isn't clumpy.
