Fun but ineffective
OK, it is fun - a flash and satisfying 'crack' when you hit the fly, but mine doesn't kill or even stun flies. I say 'mine' because I have previously given one of these as a present and that seemed to be much more effective, downing though not killing even wasps, so I don't understand the difference. Sometimes mine will 'down' a small fly which can then be despatched with a foot, but it took three solid hits to bring down a medium-sized fly yesterday, so it's really not very effective. As a friend said, I might just as well be using an ordinary tennis racket, but then that wouldn't be as much fun: two stars then, but only for the fun.

Excellent value, low cost address book that ticks all the boxes
This is a great value A5 address book; not particularly high quality paper or back, but excellent for the money and the layout seems ideal for its purpose. Plenty of space for each entry, well laid out, and with four sides for each of the 'main' letters. Only one letter per section too, which is ideal. I like the ring binding - allows you to open the book and lay it flat, with no tendancy for the pages to close over when your hands are otherwise engaged.

Surprisingly useful
1 of 1 found this helpful Useful for all sorts of things, some unexpected, not just the obvious use for fine hobby work. I always use one when I'm tying the bows in ribbons on presents - holds the first half hitch tight while you tie the bow. They have a good, strong grip, the points close snugly together so that, for example, you can grip a sheet of paper securely, and although the finish isn't wonderful - I smoothed the corners of the composite brown pads with a fine file - it's plenty good enough and there are no sharp edges to the metal. With a bit of lateral thinking you find all sorts of uses - you just have to remember you have them. I've given a number of these away to friends.
