Multifuel Stove Fans = Half price heating? You bet.
2 of 2 found this helpful I do not normally buy things that sound too good to be true, but for once I am glad I did. I am in a cottage dating from 1875 and have just completed renovations, it is large and heating last year cost £1200 in wood and coal for a multifuel burner.
I have tried this fan and was surprised to find that instead of stoking the fire many times through the day to keep the room warm and get heat into the rest of the house, using one fan on the stove kept the room at 22 degrees all day (24 hours) on one load of coal with the fire 'closed down'.
I now have two fans using the same coal load and the heat is already moving into other rooms.
I am now considering an experiment to see if a third fan and a little ingenuity can take the heat into the rest of the cottage. That is something I would not be looking into if this fan was anything less than effective and good value.
Just for the record, I anticipate that this year my heating bill for the cottage will be reduced by half at the very least.
