NEW XOTIC RC BOOSTER V2 CLEAN BOOST GUITAR EFFECTS PEDAL w/ FREE CABLE 0$ S&H
28 Oct, 2017
Really good pedal, does what's supposed to.
I use it with strats and teles, all ash+maple, both single coils and hbuckers. I use it into a fender twin reverb head with custom cabinet/loudspeakers. Being the twin reverb a really clean amp (in fact, it's made just for cleans) I needed a little more bite, something I can get on another head, an old marshall 75 reverb when used 'clean'. Also I needed to have my basses more spicy, less rounded. I could achieve all of this with the RC booster. Just added a little volume, a little gain, a little treble and basses and voilà! Far more bite, juicy sounds, clear yet powerful basses, very good. And you have a really large range of combinations with the 4 controls, depends on guitars, amps, stlles you have. The second gain of v2 is also very usefull for slight more volume/gain, if setted quite low. Instead, I found it quite unsusable if setted far from the gain 1 value: it adds really really too much volume, so you cannot really exploit its full power without having too much difference in volume switching on and off gain 2 (again, if setted quite higher than gain 1). Though, it can be usefull even high-setted if you plan to use the pedal always with gain 2 on. Anyway, gain 2 adds some more sound options to v1 of the pedal, so good to have. The best way to exploit gain2 is to set it really news gain1 value, whichever it is. This way you'll have little or no volume gap and could use it for different saturation or slight volume boost. I really like the sound I have with gain1 and 2 both to the max. Very very warm and organic. Overall, this is a very very usefull pedal if you want to reshape your cleans giving them more spice, bite, clarity, I think a little compression too, or if you want to add grit to clean amps, great both for rhythms or solos.
