Gas Range Oven Ignitor for Whirlpool 4342528 and GE WB2X9154
26 Jul, 2017
Very Fast Shipping and Quality Part!
When I ordered the igniter for my oven I decided to also replace the one for the broiler which is also the same part number so I ordered two. The delivery date was originally supposed to be on a Tuesday but it arrived 4 days earlier on the Saturday prior. This was perfect timing as we had already been without an oven for a week before I found this igniter. There are minor modifications that you have to make to them prior to installation that includes cutting the wires off of the old igniter and then splicing it to the new one so you maintain the same connectors. When you do make sure to cut the entire old wire off of the old connector as when you splice them together they tend to be a little shorter that you may anticipate. This should leave you with enough wire should you have to run the wire around any of the valves and piping at the back underside of the oven. Once installed my oven heated from 0 to 350 degrees in about 4 minutes. Prior to the installation it took nearly 25 minutes to warm the oven up to 350 degrees, so the igniter did what it was supposed to do. When you do this job it is much easier taking the oven door totally off by holding both sides of the door in each hand and pulling straight up until the door slides up and off. You will also need to take the bottom drawer below the oven door entirely out. Have a vacuum cleaner ready as there will be a ton of dust and everything that you've ever dropped alongside and in back of the oven. It's just much easier working with all of that dust out of the way. When installing the igniter in the broiler you will also need to pull the oven away from the wall and remove an access panel behind the oven. Same goes for the wiring, leave yourself enough wire to route around things and be careful to not over-tighten the ceramic nuts that they give you to splice your new igniter to your old igniter's wires. I hope this helps.
