My 9months old seems to accept the mattress. But we don't know how he likes it on the plane yet. It may be a bit clumsy to use when the baby is awake but it should help a lot when the parent want to pass the sleeping kid to another person. It should be cooler to nap on than my arm. My boy sweats a lot. And we plan to use it in the hotels and Airbnb to give my kid more protection, just in case he is not comfy with the bed sheet.
