To the Golden Shore, by Courtney Anderson
This is one of the best biographies I’ve read. Adoniram Judson was a remarkable man who led a remarkable life. He was a brave, selfless, brilliant missionary. He and his wife were the first missionaries to serve in Burma. He translated much of the Bible into their language without the help of an interpreter. They faced barbaric people, poverty, prison and all manner of adversity. It took years to see any positive results after so much loss to him personally. The gospel of Jesus Christ was his passion and eventually it bore much fruit.
