Brawl in Cell Block 99
This has to be the defining film of Vince Vaughn's career, gone is the rom com almost frat boy actor. Here he comes in as a heavy weight, some scenes are not for the faint hearted but he holds his own in the action scenes, the underlying story flows throughout and I found the excellent acting from stars such as Don Johnson gives it the edge. A definitive film for Vaughn, never personally been a huge fan but this genre and this production has cemented his position as a actor who I would watch out for now.

Firstly Kurt Russell, as a huge fan of Kurt Russell this film certainly seems to be his wheelhouse. I love the western style movie but with the horror/gore twist which with films like The Thing we know he's very capable, I found the characters engaging even the couple who becomes a central part of the plot, you actually completely engage and feel for them all as the story develops. Enough creeps and turns to keep you interested and it'll be the most unusual western style you'll see in a while.
