Destination: Moon
Since no human crew is going to back to the Moon anytime soon (thanks to uncertain poliitcs), this is a handy map plate assemblage for armchair adtronauts. A classic, hand drawn in great detail. You can photocopy map sectipns and build your own big wall map. Color with watercolor paint or evem crayon.

A fascinating photo-narrative trip along the Zambezi River
I received an excellent, autographed copy of this adventure coffee-table book. Superb photographs with a lively, informative narrative makes it a great addition to any armchair traveler.

A wonderful memoir in a superb illustrated edition
While no longer in print, this illustrated edition of Huxley's African memoir of life in colonial Kenya in the early 1900s is perhaps the best out there. Including a colorful map and vibrant artwork illustrating the text, this is worth seeking out used online. Note: Huxley never clearly identifies the flame trees of the book's title but after considerable research I believe the tree is in fact the Nandi Flame Tree or African Tuliptree (Spathodea campanulate) a native to east Africa. There are several so-called flame trees that grow in Kenya, too. This is most likely the tree planted by Huxley's mother at the family's Thika farm.
