This yeast is dead
0 of 5 found this helpful Despite this Red Star Active Dry Yeast being well within the expiration period (over a year), it performed worse with every trial. It would not produce a decent loaf of bread no matter what I did. Finally I found my old standard, Red Star Premium Yeast, and baked a loaf exactly the same way. Perfection. So it's definitely this yeast that's bad. Very disappointed since we paid a premium for it during the virus shutdown.
