The first review that said this lens is crap simply does not not know what he is on about. In depth reviews show this lens to be as good if not better than the canon and nikon entry lenses. Ok its apples and pears but it has an edge. Where it looses is in the image stabilization to its rivals. But if you need image stabilization in good day light your running to low an iso or you need to stop smoking. Use a tripod. 9/10 you just need to know your settings to keep the shutter speed at a safe level. All round a great camera, ok the noise is present at 800 but it depends when you shoot. If like night time street photography with a fast lens then choose something else i.e lx3 lx4?
