It's sharp but perhaps not it's main positive
It is highly unusual for an ultra wide angle lens to exhibit such a low level of distortion, plus it's a zoom lens which makes it even more rare to have this low level of distortion and to make things even rarer, it's affordable to many people! PLUS IT'S RAZOR SHARP!
I can't think of a reason for not buying this lens over another similar ultra wide angle for crop sized sensor cameras, both photographic and cine, other than the lack of any inbuilt image stabilization. If you need image stabilization then go else where, but the lenses with stabilization all seem to be F4 or slower.
Works great with my Sony FS7 with a Sigma EF to Sony E mount adapter. The bokeh is very good for an ultra wide, but of course comes nowhere close to the quality of an 85mm or 135mm lens, that's to be expected, of course you have to get very close to your subject, but the minimum focus distance is short, so that helps.

1 of 2 found this helpful Stunning per pixel detail, mirrorless technology means you get a higher number of usable images without mirror slap back blur like on th Canon 5DS. In body stabilization is surprisingly great, a number of easy to use focus modes. An electronic viewfinder (EVF), what you see is what you get (WYSIWYG) in the viewfinder, which means you can change your exposure without having to look at the back of the camera after taking each photograph.
Menus are not hideous, but could be better, but once you've set it up and then memorize where a few features are, like APS-C mode - a 1.5x crop (5168 x 3448, as opposed to 7952 x 5304 in full frame!!! That's higher resolution than the A7S II, or a Nikon D700), which effectively makes it a full frame camera and an APS-C camera! 2 cameras in one and further more, unlike DSLRs, you see an APS-C image cover the WHOLE viewfinder, unlike say a Nikon D800 where the cropped portions are merely dimmed (with the D800 you see full frame in the viewfinder, with the no APS parts dimmed), making composition difficult.
LARGE viewfinder, very high quality, great LCD screen as well.
If the video mode looks dim, then change the brightness down to 0 (default) then change to HD mode, then change back to 4K (UHD).

Works fine with the Sennheiser IE80 as well as the IE8i with extra functionality
Works fine with the Sennheiser IE80 and has an inline volume control and a pause/answer call function, unlike the IE80 cable. Used with an Apple iPhone 6+
