An informative & enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Everything is explained in an easy to understand way with lots of examples. You even get the camera settings for the photo's and they show the effects of different shutter speeds on the picture. One drawback was that my camera didn't have the range of aperture values/shutter speeds mentioned, but nevertheless the same principles applied. Covers using different ISO settings - fast & moderate speeds - freezing action - 1/250sec - 1/500sec - 1/1000sec. Slowing down - backlight without silhouettes - panning 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4sec - implying motion (with a tripod) - painting with shutter speed - simply zooming ( I couldn't try this effect as my zoom didn't work once focused) - attaching the camera to moving objects - dusk & low light (great chapter) - WB issues - long exposures & rear curtain flash sync - Filters ( good advice ) - Lightning - shooting in RAW format - composition (another useful chapter) All in all a good book & one I would recommend. nb I didn't find his 'Understanding Exposure' book as good/informative.
