    Blacklands by Belinda Bauer (Paperback)
    16 May, 2017
    Now a devoted fan
I was bowled over by a new writer called Belinda Bauer and 'The Beautiful Dead' so I ordered her debut novel 'Blacklands' which is even better. Using a backdrop of poverty and loneliness in a Southern town. Bauer weaves an intriguing story of cat and mouse between and a young boy searching for the grave of his long dead Uncle and a serial killer he believes put him there. Excellently paced and so well written you can smell those moors. Put her on your must read list.
The Crucifix Killer: A brilliant serial killer thriller, fea... by Carter, Chris

    A page turner.
Although I had read some of the later books I wanted.to start at the beginning. The words page turned are overused but appropriate here. Carter keeps you hooked and it's interesting that his hero uses psychology to get his man. But don't get me wrong, this is, the the rest in the series, extremely gruesome and definitely not for the Mills and Noon brigade.

Roy Wood & Wizzard The Best and The Rest
A lifelong Roy Wood fan I wanted to hear some of his less well-known tracks. This fits the bill. A couple of his hits, a few b-sides and a number of rarities make this essential for "Woodites". Probably the most underrated performer of our time this album digs up some impressive tunes. Not all work but they are at least interesting.
