Who could resist this title?
I heard about this book on the Book Show on WAMC public radio in Albany and just had to read it. The premise of the gods of Olympus truly being immortal and the "rightful" gods but fallen from power and living in squalor in a London flat was too hard to pass up. The book did not disappoint. The author does a wonderful job of transforming the powers and abilities of these gods into the modern world (Aphrodite as a phone sex operator is hysterical) The mortals she introduces to interact with the gods are two completely powerless people (so powerless they cannot even express their own love for each other) Watching them become part of the world of the gods makes for an enchanting, entertaining read. I loved it. It has sparked my interest in mythology so I am on to read "Don't Know Much About Mythology..."

Forgot how many wonderful tunes were on this album. Funeral for a Friend is Elton's Magnum Opus IMHO.
