So very engaging
The cast was excellent; and with a well-written script, there's a promise of a good film overall. So, clearly, as a Paul Newman fan throughout my adulthood, I'm captivated by the interaction between him and Joanne Woodward, a fine actress in her own right. The dialog between them is like the simmering heat and humidity in the south during summer. There's both sensuality and sexuality between Anthony Franciosa and Lee Remick, and Orson Welles' open pursuit of Angela Lansbury that runs parallel to and increases as the summer's heat adds to the frustrations, conflicts, and relationships between the characters. The William Faulkner novel brought to the screen was excellent. Despite the fact that I saw this movie when it first came out and have viewed it at different times on TV, I wanted to have a copy for my personal, film collection. Needless to say, I love the movie and am happy to now own a copy.

Smart, fun, and easy to like
For people who like ice skating, especially couples figure skating, this is an enjoyable movie. For people who enjoy romantic comedies with good writing, funny verbal repartee between the couple, and if you enjoy watching the relationship between the characters developing, then you will enjoy this movie. It's funny and well written. Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney as the lead actors are very good. The chemistry between them is believable. The supportive actors are also very good. This is one of my favorite movies to watch when i want to view a well-written, rom-com.
