B-5 Better Than Star Trek!!
I am a devoted Trekkie, but Babylon-5 is a cut above. I LOVED the entire 5 years. Star Trek has good and bad episodes, but B-5 is CONSISTENTLY good in it's stories, every episode. The 5 year arc, all plotted out in advance, is fascinating, seamless, full of mysteries that are fully explained as you go along, and result in one grand culmination. There's even a grand and satisfying romance. This series starts with a "buddy" friendship between the captain and his security officer that reminds me of Kirk and Spock, and always draws in the viewer. The aliens, the special effects and sound, the station itself, the Lurkers down below, the Psi Corps, led by a creepy Walter Koenig from Trek, the Warp Gates---it's all delightful to the senses for a sci-fi fan---a whole new universe to explore! I heartily recommend.
