    Small and perfect
Small but perfect for our cloakroom. The black enhances the decor beautifully. Easy to fit, fastens to cord securely and should last for a long time.
Brideshead Regained: Continuing the Memoirs of Charles Ryder, Michael Johnston,
    02 Sep, 2020
    Good, not great.
I waited some years before finding this infamous sequel. I'm glad that I read it and would say it is well written. Some things did jar; the appearance of historical figures (avoided in the original), Charles Ryder finding a novel written by Evelyn Waugh, Celia's second husband being described as a "toy-boy". The ending is not happy and does not attempt to tie up loose ends, which is good. But so much happens in the final five pages, that it seems extremely rushed. Or did Mr Johnston anticipate another episode? Good read, but not a great read and, obviously, not a patch on the original.
