Borderlands
I bought this game to give me something more relaxing to play than modern warfare 2. I found this game enjoyable, yet repetitive.
The game mechanics are thoroughly enjoyable, but the missions are all pretty much the same, and most of the baddies are the same five or six dudes, with some dogs and birds thrown in for good measure. The whole entire worlds looks like one big garbage dump rendered in a comic book. Of course, the last few levels mix it up a bit in terms of landscape and enemies.
I really enjoyed hunting for different guns, and being able to play cooperatively with friends. The game supports up to four players at once, though I never was able to round up more than a single friend online at any given moment.
If you like FPS games or RPGs, I'd say that this is a decent purchase if you find it in the twenty dollar range.

Very good game- just gets boring after a while
0 of 1 found this helpful First things first- this is a fun game with a bit of replayability. Graphics, controls, and sound are all good. The game is fun to play for a while.
The downside is that everything starts to kind of look the same- even from one area to the next, you're very aware that it's all the same giant garbage-world. Kind of like a huge scrapyard that is mostly brown.
The game has more than a million guns. I'm not exaggerating- there's some sort of randomization system in place that picks and chooses parts and mashes them together before you get to see the gun.
There are four characters to choose from, and they have different upgrade paths. Without buying the add-on content, you can't unlock everything on a single character, but you can purchase a re-spec.
The game offers a much harder second playthrough, and if memory serves, there's a playthrough '2.5' where things are seriously tough.
Anyway, it's a fun game for a while but monotony will eventually settle in. It's still a good game that up to four friends can play simultaneously over xbox live.

Highly recommended.
This thing is solid. I mean, it feels heavy and well built. Easy to program. Works great. Highly recommended.
