A great look back to 'simpler' times!
Great fun to read and think how simple and easy life USED to be. First saw this in a National Trust property....I have since bought two - one for ne and one as a gift for an old friend and I know she will love it!

Watch out for the Mother in Law!
I have just a out all of Philippa Gregory's books but had not heard of this one until a friend recommended it.....it's so different to the books I am used to from her!
At times, a bit disturbing, and with so few characters it's surprising that it really is a 'page turner'. The ending leaves you making up your own mind about what happens next. I read it in three days and enjoyed it but don't think it's a book I will read twice - but let that put you off giving it a try
