Valve seal works good, excellent installation instructions!
I watched the video and then followed the installation instructions and had no issues with the installation. The valve seal is made of a pretty rugged material so it snapped right into place just like putting a bicycle tire on a rim. The nailer now works like it should, no more misfiring! Excellent vendor too, a real professional who knows his stuff.

New laser assembly resolves READ ERROR and now records reliably
Prior to installing the new read write laser assembly we could not read previously recorded discs reliably and as time went on we finally couldn't read any of them. The commercially produced movie DVD's would still work, but not the ones we recorded on the RAM discs. The new unit came packaged in ESD protected container as one would expect. I hired a professional electronics technician to do the replacement. He reportedly had problems getting the tray back in so that it would work properly, but the installation of the laser assembly was straight forward. Two hours of labor is what he charged us. The new laser immediately would read 14/15 of the RAM discs with no error message and we could now record once again. The only issue we are having is that when I delete a previously recorded show the DELETE function bar freezes when it is 90% across and I have to shut off the machine or press the reset button. The item is deleted though. I am not sure if this is a problem of the new laser or not. But over all I would say this is a successful repair.

Factory defective right out of the box
The package was OMC factory but the part in the box was obviously defective. One of the castings was apparently mashed by something and the part would not fit on the shaft. Being desperate to get the motor back together I used my dremel tool and grinder to open up the groove on the part that was damaged. After about 45 minutes of work I managed to get it onto the shaft without binding. Tried taking a picture of the defect but it didn't really come out.
