Perfect laptop to radio bridge
1 of 1 found this helpful I am using this box in my pickup truck for a laptop to radio bridge for my Yaesu FT 857. I have both a Linux laptop and Windows 7 laptop that run fldigi and HRD. I needed data capabilities for my emcomm work. I also use Chirp to program the radio. It is pretty much plug and play in Linux and for Windows the drivers are available. The unit came with required cables however I did need a longer 3.5 to 3.5 cable for the cw keyer. Retired my key now, as CW is received and sent by the laptop. Ha Ha I suddenly went from 20 to 30 words per minute. There are some instructions out there on google, they are in Russian but translated fine through google and understandable enough. Like all ham radio equipment, it is over priced for what you get.
