a wonderful story set in a parallel universe.
The characters are clear and well defined. The book is every bit as good a tale as the Dark Materials series. The illustrations are fine but not entirely necessary in a book that describes its settings so well.

A lightweight coffee table book with very little real content.
Lots of nice pictures but no good for anyone really interested in aviation history. Very little context to the images - more of a mood book than anything substantial.

A wonderful read.
As good a book as you could expect from such a renowned journalist. Frank, funny and honest. I did not need a book mark as I could not put the book down. A remarkable story of a man who has risen above the disability of being a Yorkshireman.
