Good to see broken patchcords
So I have bough 3 of these 30mW visual fault finder for test.
+16dBm = 40mW (in the fiber) so the unit is more powerful than 30mW
The unit is marked (more than) 30mW
I left it on for a hour and the output was 0,5 dBm lower when I came back.
The unit was not warm so it´s no problem to leave then on and they do not shout off (that’s good)
With the 1 mW you can see 10km of fiber.
With the 30mW unit you get 3km extra =13km
My dB meter for 660nm can only handle +3dBm so I need to test the unit with 2.6km SM fiber.
The 2,6km fiber has a attenuation of 15dB at 650nm.
So the 30mW has a output of 16dBm (1dBm on the instrument + 15dB for the fiber)
I also have the 1mW visual fault finder. They have a output of -3dBm = 0,5 mW (in the fiber).

Cut faster with low amp and small nozzel
My plasma cutter was deliveryed with 1,5mm nozzel. If I use max 40A I can cutt faster with 1.1mm
