Lucas indicator Stalk for Series 3 Landrover
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a good quality genuine Lucas switch. However, do note the angle of the offset-stalk is at right angles to the steering shaft axis such that the horn button interferes with the controls on a County style series 3. I therefore would say it is not suitable for vehicles after around 1982. On later vehicles the stalk needs to be rotated counter clockwise so the offset is located to gives clearance away from the dashboard. The switch i think is better quality than a cheaper switch I had previously purchased which failed prematurely. With a bit of fiddling and removal of a rivet I was able to swop over the stalks so could use most of the Lucas mechanism. Not ideal, but now working fine. For the right (earlier) vehicle, there would be no problem.

Good switch but not “solder tolerant”.
If you use this switch with spade connectors it will probably work well and the mechanism feels solid. However, do not solder wires to the connectors… I did this but unfortunately the heat soften the plastic and the switch failed. Clearly solder connection is not intended, however with this proviso it would probably work well. However, many switches i have used in the past have used heat tolerant materials, I learnt the hard way! I would therefore recommend including a warning in the description to avoid excessive heat by soldering. The price is fair.
