Sulphamic Acid 99.5% Pure 1Kg

banish limescale blues - or browns....
I wanted something to clean a limescaled-up toilet. Hydrochloric acid was my first thought, but this stuff seemed a bit safer and more manageable. It is, and it works: toilet is now speakling.

Cracking divx player and more
I bought this thing because I was looking for a divx player to play all the avi films my friends have copied for me. The Yamada (it comes under the Umax name, too) offered a cheap solution and had some good reviews on the web. It was cheaper on eBay than elsewhere, obviously.... It also has a digital tuner for freeview and some games (which I haven't bothered to look at). There's loads of connections - USB, SCART (in & out), S-video, component video; it will do 5.1 sound, and play your mp3 dics if you connect it to your stereo (I haven't bothered to do this thus far). The freeview self-tuned easily, which led me to discover that, although I get the four main terrestrial channels fine on analogue (C5 is a bit iffy), at this stage I only get obscure things like ITV2+1 and shopping channels on digital. This is because, although only maybe 2-3 miles from the Brighton mast (as the crow flies), I am hidden behind a hill and some repeaters need to be put in place (I checked this with the Freeview site), and is nothing to do with the Yamada box, which works fine. Anyway, as a simple consumer of films, I can report that it plays conventional DVDs (bought and written) perfectly well, and has no problem with avi discs (up to 5 films on each). The picture is crisp and clear (32" Vistron LCD screen), and the sound synchronisation is fine (unlike some other reviewers on the net have apparently had). So, based on a couple of months experience, this is a neat little piece of kit which can save you some clutter under the TV (divx, DVD, freeview decoder, mp3 jukebox all in one box). But don't lose the remote: there are pretty much no buttons on the box itself, and it would be unusable without the remote.

Cheap fix for dodgy print head
A new print head is much cheaper than a whole new printer, and ecologically more sensible. Easy to install (YouTube videos available) works perfectly. The End.
