The ugly truth of War from a child's perspective

Easy to read. Nice to get personal accounts from the children who lived through the war. Also some of the accounts are are from the enemie as well from the allies. There should be more reads like this. Most of the war story's that you read are from historians gathered from military and national archives. These stories remind me of the stories my mother used to tell me as she was a child herself during the war years. Wish I had made records of the stories my mother told me. More accounts like these need to be gathered and told. The children who lived through the war are now in their later years and when their time is up there accounts and everyday stories will die with them untold and lost forever. This book is a easy read and I found it hard to put down once I started to read
