Works well with additional software
1 of 1 found this helpful This is my first trackball, and I'm having a pretty good experience. I tried it because I was having some thumb pain from using a mouse, and it has helped, though now I'm left-clicking with my thumb so it's not complete relief. It's not quite as accurate as a mouse, but it's close, and the mouse had movement disadvantages too.
The biggest problem is the loss of the scroll wheel. I was able to overcome this about 90% (after several misfires - the Logitech software did me no good, and I can't remember the other ones I tried) after downloading X-Mouse Button Control. It's not super user-friendly software, but after fiddling around with the scrolling options for 'button 4' I've got a pretty good scrolling function. Without this software I probably wouldn't be using the trackball at all.
