Best grey oil on the market
I ordered Osmo grey decking oil as I heard some negative reviews on other decking options. I used this on my 26m2 tantalised decking as I heard the coverage was really good. The deck is in the sun most of the day so I wanted some protection from the heat, UV etc without peeling, flaking or blistering.
The overall finish is amazing, really easy to apply with a simple 3” soft brush. Took me just over an hour to apply the full first coat. Left for 12hrs (overnight) as recommended and by morning the deck was fully dry and ready for the second coat. Don’t worry if it looks too thin on the first coat. The second really covered well.
The oil is relatively thin in consistency so no issue getting into the grooves of the decking and down the gaps. Covers screws well.
Only thing to remember with darker colours, is that they will show up imperfections on the wood (knots & grains etc) but for what I wanted, this is great.
I purchased 2 x 2.5ltr tins and have applied two coats and still have half a ton left for future. May even do the gate and fence with it now.
Good quality product, not the cheapest. But as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
