Satety Issues
After having purchased the product I immediately noticed the following major safety issues:
1. The lamp is wired with 2-core flexible cable (instead of 3-core), meaning that the metal guard is not connected to earth. This presents the risk of electric shock.
2. The moulded plug, although physically compatible with the standard UK 13A socket outlet, is completely sealed and clearly has no protective removable fuse. As the flex would appear to be rated at no more than 5A, if a short circuit fault were to occur within the appliance the flex would overheat or catch fire; since its only remaining 'protection' would be a 32A circuit breaker or fuse back in the consumer unit.
3. In view of the above, the CE marking on the appliance cannot be authentic.
In order to make my purchase safe I have had to replace the 2-core cable with 3-core, connect the earth wire to the guard, then fit a 13A standard plug fused at 3A.

Happy with purchase. Although the unit will suit MY purpose, I am a little concerned about the validity of the QA. E.g. I suspect that its IP65 rating is not appropriate, once the cable entry points are opened.
