The two I bought worked fine.

If you connect a serial monitor to the TX / RX connections they have a preloaded piece of software that scans and displays local WiFi info. Remove link first. Replace link to write new software. I have it switching via Alexa, it’s working great.

No problems. Pickit3 had to be used 2 wouldn't entertain it.
