A bucket-list film for all ages who appreciate character acting from people who have seriously honed their craft and got deeply into the character.
This is one of my top ten films of all time. Amazing and awesome and features jazz from back in my day in the 1950s. Having said that it was recommended to me by a 20-something academic. The acting is completely off the radar.

An attention-grabbing film with unusual characteris.
I saw this when it came to the UK in the 1950s, at a time when French films were popular. It was an edge-of-seat film back then and the passage of years has not detracted from that. A classic.
