5 of 5 found this helpful The machine is solid, smooth, very easy to operate, and a great value. It comes with a great assortment of accessory feet and although it only does one thing (a straight stitch), it performs without flaw or criticism. The variation in stitch length is fantastic and I don't know of any other new machine you will find with a 7 mm maximum length within that price range or even close to it. I would only say that the threader and the lighting are the only areas on the machine that could be improved upon. The machine is not difficult to thread by hand, though, and there are many add-on LED lights that you can add to the machine to remedy the lighting. If you are thinking of paying $200 more for the Juki straight stitcher because it has speed control, I can assure you won't be disappointed with the precision and control this machine offers even though there is no speed slider. It is no problem to stitch one stitch at a time by using the foot pedal. Otherwise, it is super fast, quiet, and smooth. If you are looking for a computerized machine that runs off a motherboard and stitches in every direction, this is not your machine. If, however, you know how to sew and are ready to take your sewing to the next level, I highly recommend.
