A must have.

I was absolutely stunned on how well this little dongle worked using a mac mini 2012. I plugged this into my powered USB 3 bus hub and it was recognized instantly and when I tested it using Quicktime it was there. Sounded great, no hums.

The best bang for the buck still in late 2016

I just updated from my late 2009 to a late 2012 rather than going new in late 2016. With an SSD drive and 8gb or 16gb of ram, for the ordinary computer user, it might as well be brand new at less than 1/2 the cost of an equivalent new model. I bought only for the new operating Sierra which can't be loaded on the 2009. I need to have at least the new operating system in today's world of connectivity and this did the trick perfectly. I still have, and use, my 2009, but I have since connected the 2 via the Firewire port and can transfer files between with incredible ease. Now I have the best of both worlds. Couldn't be more pleased.
