Miswired cable! Can be rectified by swapping white/red bands though
Well I've never seen a 3.5mm cable before that's wired wrong, a new one on me, the tip was right channel, ring left...
The good news is the white/red markings on the phono plugs are rubber and can be swapped over to correct this.

Good (replacement) phono lead for turntable.
Seems good basic phono cable, double screen on each channel (tape and braid), gold plated connectors and separate grounding wire - only gripe is the grounding wire is a bit thin and thus rather flimsy. I got this to replace a damaged phono lead on a turntable so I had to snip off the connectors one end and solder in place, on reflection I should have gone for 3m length and cut in half and make two such leads.
The coax internal insulation is colour-coded white/pink for left and right which is useful for my case.
