Yes, they are better than other earbuds ...

Yes, they are better than other earbuds if you're wanting to sleep in them. But don't think you won't notice they're there when you lay on your side. I certainly do. As others have said, laying on one side pushes that earbud in a little harder, and so makes the sound a little louder. IMHO, they're better than earplugs in that they mask the noise (and they do that well), but the right earplugs are probably still more comfortable. So, an improvement for sleepers, but a long way from perfect!
