YI Home Camera

I have six of these cameras mounted in various parts of my house. They are super easy to set up, requiring only a persistent internet connection and a smart cell phone (be sure to get the US version which verbally walks you through the setup). The camera can automatically notify you when motion is detected. It also can record (to the memory chip) whenever motion is detected. It can be mounted either on it's base or mounted upside down (by inverting the image). The night vision LEDs work adequately over short distances. At $30 this is a BARGAIN!

WIFI Thermostat

This thermostat works great. Was easy to install and link into my home network. Now I can check on, and set, the house temperature from anywhere using my android phone. The only problem I had was the wiring. This thermostat requires 5 wires in the cable -- mine had only four. There was no easy way to run a new cable. Luckily this problem was anticipated by Honeywell -- they provided a work-around video using the green (manual fan) wire to supply the needed "common" wire. I lost the ability to manually run the furnace fan as a result, but that is no problem. The fan still functions normally when heating or cooling.
