poor fittings

Delivery was good and the glass is fine. The design details and some of the fittings were poor, as were the instructions and fitting became a nightmare requiring customisation to get it to work. One of the problems with a "frameless" enclosure is there is less wriggle room with the width. I have an opening of exactly 1200, so not a big problem, but one old wall that is not perfectly vertical. So I fixed to that vertical and got the panel plumb using the adjustment. The problems began when I fitted the door because the design meant that as soon as the door was unsupported the hinges dropped - they simply cannot get enough purchase, using 2 horizontal screws, to support the door without slipping. This then means the door is not completely vertical creating a problem for the magnetic sealing strips to hold the door closed and watertight. There was then insufficient space or flexibility to align the wall mounted magnetic seal on the supplied aluminium base. Ultimately, I had to rely on cutting down this seal and mounting it directly to the wall, whilst mated to the door seal, then gluing this in place with a specialist mastic. I was relieved this actually worked, thanks to the mastic. My advice is to fit a simple sliding door in a frame, but otherwise spend more money on a proven design.
